2007-2009 Strategic Goals
1) Advocate and communicate motorcycle safety and awareness through the sharing of information and continued communication with other organizations and entities.
-
Continually expand and update website to include motorcycle awareness tools.
-
Establish a committee to call states to determine what stays, what goes, what needs to be added.

Maintain and build key stakeholder relationships with other safety organizations.
-
Participate in motorcycle roadway advisory council.
-
Develop and execute PDW to be delivered at national conference.
-
Develop and offer 2 PDWs for 2008/2009 conferences.
-
Continue to maintain strong relationships with voting members by continuous communication.

Send out monthly bulletins regarding participation and/or involvement to communicate more regularly with members.

Continue to send out quarterly Leading Edge newsletters.
2) Develop specific content and materials to address key issues impacting state administrators and instructors through the development and execution of six Professional Development Workshops between 2007 and 2009.

Develop and execute PDW to be delivered at national conference.

Provide electronic documentation of PDW on website.

Maintain work plan to address future professional development needs.
3) Provide tools, techniques and assistance to key stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness.

Evolve the annual conference to meet dynamic changes in the motorcycle industry.

Expand and update website to include motorcycle awareness tools.

Establish a committee to evaluate and update web site.

Provide technical support to new motorcycle safety administrators and programs.

Appoint a committee to develop a tool kit for new administrators (ref: passing the torch; contact lists; SMSA tools)

Whenver possible, provide assistance to members as needed.
4) Be a leader with government and other organizations to address key issues in motorcycle safety through partnerships.

Participate in motorcycle roadway advisory council.

Place SAFETEA-LU 2010 information link on website.

Participate in other organizations such as:

AAMVA

MRF
-
AMA
-
MSF
-
NHTSA

AASHTO
-
Participate in GHSA with key motorcycle trends, issues and present when possible.

Participate with NHTSA in the development and implementation of the curriculum standards.

Continued involvement in the development of the standards by identifying members who could sit on the committee.
