B - TRAINING INFORMATION

MOBILE TRAINING PROGRAMS


States who have a mobile training program.

ALABAMA Two 24 foot trailers equipped to transport motorcycles and materials to sites.

ARIZONA Operated by private MVD licensed School.

CALIFORNIA Yes, 2 mobile units cover rural areas.

COLORADO 3 Mobile units to cover rural areas.

GEORGIA 2 Vehicles & 3 Trailers.

HAWAII We maintain an ocean going trailer which is barged to the neighbor islands to conduct training in

remote areas.

ILLINOIS 2 centers have mobile classrooms.

IOWA Abate of Iowa - 2 units.

MINNESOTA 13 trailers circulated in regions in the State.

MISSOURI 32' enclosed trailer, storage/classroom.

NEVADA Flatbed trailer to haul motorcycles to part-time sites.

NEW MEXICO We have four trailers with associated equipment.

NORTH DAKOTA Bikes trailered to outlying regions.

OHIO We have 2 mobile trailers to go to 18 mobile sites within the state.

OKLAHOMA Oklahoma City.

OREGON Through Oregon State University - serves 11 communities.

SOUTH CAROLINA Yes.

SOUTH DAKOTA Four trailers, each capable of hauling 8 cycles.

TENNESSEE 1 self contained classroom trailer w/10 motorcycles.

TEXAS The Motorcycle Safety Bureau offers training through ten mobile training locations. Local sponsors

are contracted by the bureau to locally administer the program (promote, sign-up students, secure

range, pay for insurance, and reimburse the bureau for travel costs). The bureau provides the

instructor and mobile unit (mobile classroom, training motorcycles, etc.) for the class.

UTAH Providers dispatch teams upon notification from State Administrator.

VIRGINIA Just started.

WASHINGTON Contractor handles all remote areas.

WEST VIRGINIA Training bikes are transported to site on as needed basis.
