These days, there is little, if any, argument about the need for more and better motorcycle safety programs in this country. Alcohol is present in nearly 40 percent of all fatally injured motorcycle operators. About 20 percent of motorcycle operators involved in fatal crashes have an invalid license. Most motorcyclists have not participated in any formal rider education training. And nearly half of all motorcycles involved in fatal crashes collide with another motor vehicle.
