PennDOT Announces the Kickoff of the

“Live Free Ride Alive” Campaign
www.LiveFreeRideAlive.com

In hopes of reducing the number of deaths and injuries as a result of motorcycle crashes, PennDOT will be launching a Motorcycle Safety Media Campaign this spring.  The campaign is titled “Live Free Ride Alive” and will utilize several types of media to get the word out to motorcyclists that the greatest impacts on crash severity are factors that are under their control.

“Live Free Ride Alive” includes an interactive Web site that was designed especially for motorcyclists because if you have a motorcycle, you have a story to tell.  The “Live Free Ride Alive” Web site will host a lot of innovative tools and information:

There will be a documentary made by motorcyclists for motorcyclists.  If you or someone you know has a story to share, check out www.LiveFreeRideAlive.comJust think, your story could save a life!

Riders will be able to take the “Be One Less” pledge memorializing their commitment to avoid risky behavior.

Riders will be able to download the PennDOT form to request the issuance of the special “Live Free Ride Alive” motorcycle license plate.

There will a link to the PAMSP Web site (www.pamsp.com) to that rider’s can get scheduled for free motorcycle safety training.

The site will contain important safety messages relating to getting properly licensed, reducing aggressive driving behaviors by obeying the speed limit, avoiding drinking and riding and always wearing protective riding gear.

Visit the new “Live Free Ride Alive” Web site.  Taking personal responsibility is crucial when it comes to our own safety!
