 Executive Committee
The Executive Committee of the National Association of State Motorcycle Safety Administrators (SMSA) consists of six (6) members, a Chairperson, and in some years an Outgoing Chairperson. There are two representatives from each of three geographical regions elected as Members of the Executive Committee by the Voting Members from each of the three regions.
Any Voting Member may be elected as Chairperson. If the elected Chairperson is a current Executive Committee Member, the vacancy created thereby is filled by another election by the Voting Members of the region from which the Chairperson has originally been elected. Details of this process are established in the SMSA Bylaws, Article V, Section 1. The Executive Committee then elects from its members a Vice Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer.
Any vacancy occurring in the Executive Committee shall be filled by appointment by the Chairperson from the geographic region of the vacating member until the next Semi-Annual meeting of the Association.
