Andrew Krajewski SMSA Chair Term Expires August 2012 |
ANDREW KRAJEWSKI
Andrew is the Director of Driver Safety at the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration. As the Director he and his staff advise the MVA Executive Team and the Driver Program Divisions on best practices and research that can be incorporated in policies and improve driver safety, including motorcycle safety, in Maryland. Andrew taught his first rider education course in 1972. From 1977 to 1983 he was an Education Manager and Regional Director for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. From 1983 to 1998 he was the MVA's Motorcycle Safety Program Coordinator. He has served on several State Motorcycle Safety Assessment Teams, been involved with several motorcycle safety research and licensing projects and recently helped create the NHTSA Coordinating a Comprehensive Motorcycle Safety Program course. He has a B.S. from Penn State University and an M.S. from the University of Central Missouri. |

CAROL THURN
Carol is the North Dakota Office of Traffic Safety, Program Manager for Motorcycle Safety Education, Safe Communities and Multi-Cultural programs. She has held this position since May, 2000. Carol was recently elected Employee of the Year for the North Dakota Department of Transportation.
Her role as program manager is demanding, her obligations include grant and contract writing, program evaluations, researching and implementing new and innovative projects, and managing the Motorcycle Safety Education, Safe Communities and the Multi-Cultural (emphasis on Native American) programs.
Carol has been on the National Association of State Motorcycle Safety Administrators Executive Board since 2002 as a Western Region Representative, Vice-Chair and has been recently elected Chair.

Michael Davis SMSA Vice-Chair Central Regional Representative Term Expires August 2012 |
MICHAEL DAVIS
Michael is the State Coordinator for the Missouri Motorcycle Safety Program. In addition to being a state coordinator Michael is also an MSF RiderCoach Trainer with experience in both two - and - three - wheel training progams. He works closely with state and federal agencies to reduce motorcycle accidents and fatalities in Missouri and across the nation. |

Sunshine Gillett SMSA Secretary Western Regional Representative Term Expires August 2012 |
SUNSHINE GILLETT
Sunshine Gillett is the Training Manager for the Idaho STAR Motorcycle Safety Prgoram. As the STAR Program's Training Manager, she manages the recruitment, training, and professonal development of Instructors, Mentors, and Trainers statewide. She also mentors and promotes program quality assurance and adherence to professional standards. Sunshine is active in curriculum development for rider training. She has also created and delivered leadership and professional development workshops and training seminars for a wide range of audiences. She holds a bachelor's degree from Boise State University and has plans to continue a graduate program in the near future. |

KEN KIPHART
Ken started teaching motorcycle courses in 1980 as a part-time job. His intent was to pay off a truck only. Apparently teaching the courses can get into your blood. Ken was certified as a Chief Instructor in 1991 and RiderCoach Trainer in 2001. He is currently the Program Administrator for Nevada's Motorcycle Safety Program. |

Joan Rasmussen Central Regional Representative Term Expires August 2011

JOAN RASMUSSEN
Joan is the Rider Training Project Manager for the Minnesota Motorcycle Safety Center (MMSC). She has held this position since 2003. The Minnesota Motorcycle Safety Center trains over nine thousand students in motorcycle rider skills training annually at twenty-one Minnesota State College and University campuses around the state. She works directly with the Department of Public Safety in St. Paul. |

Joseph M. Tyree Eastern Regional Representative Term Expires August 2012

JOSEPH M. TYREE
Joe is the Program Coordinator for the West Virginia Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Program, out of the Governor's Highway Safety Program Office. He has held the position since January 2004. Joe is a retired West Virginia State Policeman and has been involved with the Motorcyle Safety Program since 1992 and a Ridercoach since 2002.
His role as program administrator includes grant and contract writing, program evaluations and to the education and awareness of both the motoring and riding public to safe motorcycling. Joe joined the National Association of State Motorcycle Safety Administrators as a Supporter and was first appointed to the Executive Board in 2010 and was recently elected for a full term as a Eastern Region Representative. |
