CHAIRPERSONS' AWARD COMMITTEE

PURPOSE

The Chairpersons' Award Committee was formed by the Executive Committee in May of 1993.  Its purpose is to recognize, each year, an individual whose contributions to motorcycle safety, at a national level, have exceeded or gone beyond that which is generally accepted as being part of his/her responsibilities.
The Chairpersons' Award Committee is composed on the current and former chairpersons of the SMSA and is chaired by the most recent former chairperson.

NOMINATION

Nominations are made by submitting a nomination form to the SMSA Business Manager.  Nominations must be submitted not later than 30 April of any given year to be considered for the Chairpersons' Award for that year.  Nominations shall be voted upon by the Committee, and the award shall be made at the annual conference of the SMSA.  If a Committee members is nominated for the Chairpersons' Award, he/she may either abstain from the selection process or be replaced by another member of the SMSA.
